Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poor family that would eventually consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of life by using her vivid and far-ranging imagination. Before she could read or write and compose her own music. After 8 years of age, she had her very first guitar. When she was 11 years old when she was 11, she began singing on Knoxville Tenn's radio station. In the same year, she recorded her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. In high school she established herself in the school community but her goals were bigger. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host in the late '60s, was looking for a singer for his program. Parton accepted the role in 1966. She then she joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. The year 1974 was the first that she decided to leave Wagoner's band because the popularity of her solo albums including Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton recorded "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner just after the pair split. The track hit number. Its first appearance at No. 1 was 1974.
